Step by Step Install Firmware TP-Link WR743ND on WA701ND

I'll show you how to Install Firmware TP-Link WR743ND on WA701ND. Why we install Firmware 743ND on 701ND? Because I need WISP mode running on 701ND. On default, 701ND didn't support WISP mode, because 701ND is Access Point Series. So, we must install 743ND on 701ND. Are it's same? Ofcourse.

Before installing, download this files.

• Firmware WR743ND [ Download ]
• OpenWrt for 701ND [ Download ]
• WinSCP [ Download ]
• PuTTY [ Download ]

 WARNING!!! 

 DO WITH YOUR OWN RISK 

First, Login to 701ND Web Administration, and install OpenWrt firmware. After booted up, go http://192.168.1.1 and set your OpenWrt password.

Second, Open WinSCP and connect to your OpenWrt using SCP Protocol, and upload firmware WR743ND on /tmp folder. Rename 743ND firmware to original.bin.

Third, Open PuTTY, and connect to your OpenWrt using SSH protocol, and login. After login, navigate to /tmp folder.

On PuTTY, type

dd if=/tmp/original.bin of=/tmp/noboot.bin skip=257 bs=512

and see, new file with name noboot.bin on /tmp folder.

Now... Now... let's flashing 743ND firmware on 701ND.

On PuTTY, type

mtd -r write /tmp/noboot.bin firmware

Wait, untill your 701ND booted UP. Default IP WR743ND is 192.168.0.1
